About the Role:
Sole Foot and Ankle Incorporated in Mechanicsville, VA, is seeking a compassionate, organized Patient Coordinator to join our dedicated team! Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients, ensuring a warm and professional front-desk experience
- Critical thinker; schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments using practice management software
- Verify insurance eligibility and process authorizations for podiatric services
- Collect co-pays, process payments, and manage patient billing inquiries
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Coordinate referrals and communicate with insurance providers and external healthcare teams
- Answer a multi-line phone system and respond to patient inquiries promptly
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in a medical office, healthcare, or patient-facing administrative role
- Familiarity with medical billing, insurance verification, and prior authorizations
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and scheduling software
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-first attitude
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and medical office procedures
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy clinical environment
- High school diploma or equivalent required; medical administrative certification a plus
- A team player to take on tasks and grow with the role.
