- Conduct thorough assessments for patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric age groups utilizing standardized evaluations and observational strategies.
- Create tailored treatment plans that focus on achieving both immediate and extended communication or swallowing objectives.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions emphasizing communication clarity, language mastery, fluency, voice modulation, and safe swallowing practices.
- Engage collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and family members to synchronize care efforts.
- Educate patients and their families to support therapy progress in their day-to-day lives.
- Occasionally conduct inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, contributing to seamless continuity of patient care.
- Ensure all documentation is precise, timely, and adheres to state, federal, and institutional standards.
- Stay abreast of the latest advances in speech-language pathology through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) required if ASHA certification is not acquired.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within the first month of employment.
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment techniques across various age groups, alongside a deep understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing issues.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills for forging effective relationships with patients, their families, and multidisciplinary care teams.
- Adeptness in adapting therapeutic approaches to honor and respect diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong clinical intuition complemented by sound problem-solving capabilities.
- Familiarity with electronic medical documentation systems and compliance standards.
