As a Special Education Teacher in a self-contained behavior classroom for students with Autism and other special needs, you’ll expand your professional toolkit by collaborating with talented staff and implementing best practices from a variety of school settings. Key Qualifications:

  • Current Standard AZ Secondary Teaching License
  • Valid K-12 Special Education certificate
  • IVP fingerprint clearance card
  • Experience in structured, intensive support settings with autism spectrum and behavioral/emotional disabilities
  • Awareness of student diversity: at-risk, limited English proficiency, exceptional students
  • Familiarity with federal and state compliance for special education documentation
  • Ability and willingness to participate in Essential Elements of Effective Instruction (E.E.E.I.) training or professional development

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Teach full-time in a self-contained, behavior-focused classroom
  • Develop and implement individualized curriculum and support plans
  • Foster positive, prosocial, and self-regulatory skill development
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families
  • Maintain required records and adhere to compliance standards
