Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at a healthcare facility in California. This role involves providing specialized respiratory care to pediatric and, preferably, neonatal patients in an ICU setting. The position requires administering inhaled specialty gases, performing diagnostic procedures, and implementing therapeutic interventions. The therapist will be responsible for documenting care plans, assessments, and patient education, while being familiar with electronic health record systems.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: California Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCB) license, Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), at least 1 year of experience in a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), and experience with electronic health record systems such as EPIC
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and proficiency in pediatric and neonatal respiratory procedures
• Additional Information: Must have experience administering inhaled specialty gases such as heliox and inhaled nitric oxide; perform blood gases, pulmonary function testing, and transcutaneous monitoring; conduct respiratory assessments; perform advanced mechanical ventilation techniques, bronchial hygiene, aerosol and humidification therapy, airway care, and resuscitation procedures. Responsible for documenting age-specific care plans, assessments, interventions, and responses in the medical record.
