Registered Nurse – Oncology/Neurology (Medical-Surgical)

Contract | Nights (19:00–07:30) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on an Oncology/Neurology Medical-Surgical unit, managing a patient population that includes stroke, cancer, seizures, palliative/end-of-life, mental status changes, and post-operative neurosurgery cases
• Administer chemotherapy and manage complications associated with chemotherapy treatment
• Support and assist with specialized unit procedures including Bone Marrow Biopsy and EEG/Continuous Monitoring
• Operate and monitor common unit equipment including IV pumps and PCA pumps
• Float to other Medical-Surgical areas as needed and manage patient assignments of up to 8 patients when required

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Experience in Oncology and/or Neurology Medical-Surgical nursing
• Ability and willingness to administer chemotherapy
• Comfort managing a high patient load of up to 8 patients
• Willingness to float to other Medical-Surgical units as needed

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience with neurosurgical post-operative care (craniotomy, laminectomy, shunt procedures)
• Familiarity with EEG/Continuous Monitoring and Bone Marrow Biopsy procedures
• Experience with palliative and end-of-life care
