The role coordinates high‑level athletic injury prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation for UCLA varsity student‑athletes, oversees injury prevention programs, and shares responsibility for Sports Medicine services. The position includes coordination of postoperative and injury care, evaluation, treatment, documentation, program design, and supervision of sports‑medicine student interns. The Coordinator will also manage documentation, refer athletes to UCLA team physicians, and perform other administrative duties. This role will be responsible for NCAA Championships and supervises the sports medicine student program. Application Deadline Expressions of interest must be received by July 10th, 2026. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Coordinate athletic injury prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation for UCLA varsity student‑athletes. Organize and run injury prevention programs. Coordinate post‑operative and injury care, including evaluation, treatment, and documentation of injuries. Design and supervise rehabilitation programs. Supervise and counsel sports medicine student interns assigned to practice and game coverage. Communicate and document athlete progress to athletic training staff, physicians, performance staff, and coaches. Maintain written and computerized documentation on all athletes’ injuries, treatments, and rehabilitation. Refer injured athletes to UCLA team physicians as appropriate. Provide administrative support and other duties as assigned by the Director of Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine. Support NCAA Championships and supervise the sports medicine student program. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Working knowledge of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics related to musculoskeletal athletic injuries of peripheral joints and spine, and functional movement assessments. Ability to conduct clinical and sideline evaluation and design sport‑specific treatment programs. Operational knowledge of therapeutic and exercise equipment. Ability to maintain accurate and concise evaluations and treatment records. Advanced skill in therapeutic exercise and functional progression, peripheral joint and soft tissue techniques, spinal mobilization/manipulation. Ability to communicate and maintain cooperative relationships with staff, physicians, coaches, student‑athletes, and outside vendors. Knowledge of common systemic illnesses that interfere with athletic participation. Skill in protective wraps, tape, and bracing devices application. Ability to manage immediate care for injuries on practice or competition fields. Professional ability to progress athletes’ rehabilitation programs independently or in consultation. CA Physical Therapist licensure eligibility or current licensure. CPR/AED certification. Master’s degree or equivalent education and experience. Ability to perform under difficult situations and maintain composure in the face of resistance, indifference or hostility. Proficiency in word processing and computer skills, Microsoft Office, IMPACT, Presagia Injury Tracking Software, DorsaVi, and VALD ForceDecks. Knowledge of Departmental, University, PAC‑12 and NCAA policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. Previous NCAA Division I experience preferred.
