GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Polishers use handheld power tools to correct defects, smooth, and prepare metal surfaces.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITES

Set-up and operate polishing equipment Maintain buffing materials and equipment—including buffers, finishing wheels, and finishing machines Assemble products to determine buffing areas and ensure pieces fit together after finishing Maintain a safe working environment by conducting inspections on equipment; following instructions on work order; and examining completed product Conduct minor repairs when necessary

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

Demonstrated understanding of equipment needed for job—including wheels used for buffing and polishing Basic mathematical knowledge Able to keep work area clean and well organized Experience with a wide variety of stainless steel alloys Able to interpret blue prints or work order instructions Suitable manual dexterity for manipulating equipment on a variety of parts Self-motivated team player with the ability to think creatively

EDUCATIONAL/PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS
