Assembler

The Assembler builds mechanical and electronic temperature and system products by assembling, testing, calibrating, and packaging devices in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing environment. This role uses hand and power tools, follows detailed work instructions and ISO procedures, and works within Lean production cells to produce high-quality units and subassemblies.

• Assemble mechanical and electronic devices to create complete units or subassemblies, including programming transmitters and operating laser equipment as required.
• Fabricate sub-components as needed using various hand tools, power tools, and production machines.
• Perform visual inspections during assembly to verify workmanship and identify defects or nonconformances.
• Conduct functional testing of devices during the assembly process to ensure proper performance.
• Calibrate devices as needed according to established procedures and specifications.
• Maintain accurate inventory records, including reporting adjustments, variances, or scrap to the appropriate supervisor.
• Participate in cross-training efforts and assist in training other employees on production processes where applicable.
• Maintain a neat, organized, and safe work area in alignment with 5S and Lean manufacturing principles.
• Use SAP and ABAKUS software systems to look up, enter, and update production and inventory information.
• Assist in maintaining ISO procedures and documentation relevant to the position and ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Determine the correct packaging materials and methods for each device based on product and customer requirements.
• Pack devices securely to prevent damage during shipment and ensure proper labeling and documentation.
• Follow all safety guidelines, ergonomic practices, and standard operating procedures while performing assembly tasks.
• Collaborate with team members within production cells to move products efficiently through each stage of the build process.

• Ability to stand for the entirety of the shift while performing assembly and related tasks.
• High attention to detail with a strong focus on producing high-quality parts and assemblies.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively in a production environment.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English to follow work instructions, documentation, and safety information.
• Basic computer skills for internet navigation and use of production-related software systems.
• Experience with assembly work, including mechanical, electrical, or electronic assembly (preferred but strongly valued).
• Experience using hand and power tools for tasks such as crimping, wiring, and fastening components.
• Familiarity with assembly-related activities such as soldering, electronic assembly, mechanical assembly, cable assembly, electrical assembly, and general production.
• Ability to work with production documentation such as blueprints or diagrams to assemble products correctly.
• Capability to perform tasks related to wiring and harness or cable assembly in an electronics or mechanical environment.
• Comfort working on an assembly line or in a production cell, contributing to a continuous flow of work.
• Capability to perform packaging tasks, including preparing products for shipment without damage.
• Willingness and ability to wear steel-toed or composite safety shoes in the production area.

• Previous assembly experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Soldering experience for electronic or PCB-related assemblies.
• Machine operating experience in a production or manufacturing setting.
• Welding experience for fabrication or assembly of metal components.
• Quality inspection experience, including visual and functional checks of assembled products.
• Experience using SAP for production, inventory, or materials management.
• Experience with PCB and harness assembly in electronics manufacturing.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing concepts, 5S practices, and continuous improvement.
• Comfort working with ISO procedures, quality documentation, and standardized work instructions.

The role is based in an extremely clean, organized, and climate-controlled manufacturing facility focused on temperature and system products. Production is arranged in cells, with each person performing specific tasks to move small products through the process, and most work is performed hand-to-hand rather than on heavy machinery. The environment follows Lean and 5S principles, with ergonomic workstations designed to enhance comfort and productivity. Employees work in a safety-first setting and must wear steel-toed or composite safety shoes. The facility offers a first shift (approximately 6:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) and a second shift (approximately 3:15 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., Monday through Friday, including a 45-minute unpaid break). Work is primarily hands-on assembly using hand tools, power tools, and light equipment, supported by systems such as SAP and ABAKUS for production and inventory management, within one of the top-tier manufacturing environments in terms of cleanliness and organization.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greenwood, IN.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
