Painting & Wallcovering Contractor\n Salary/Pay Rate: $85,000 - $105,000+ per year plus Performance Based Bonus\n Location: Manassas, VA (Onsite)\n Job/Employment Type: Full Time - In Office \n Project Scope: CommercialWallcovering, and Polished Concrete for all market segments\n\n\nThe Opportunity\nWe're seeking an Estimator / Project Manager to own projects end-to-end . This is a role for someone who wants to both win the work and run it. You will be working closely with Assistant Project Managers, field superintendents, crews, and Client partners along the way.\n\nHow You Will Make an Impact\n\n Perform digital takeoffs to calculate labor hours, material rates/coverage and substrate requirements. \n Prepare competitive, accurate bids for commercial painting, wallcovering, and concrete floor projects.\n Track project budgets, analyze costs, and manage progress billing to keep jobs profitable\n Manage client communications with general contractors and facility managers as the primary point of contact.\n Visit jobsites to verify measurements and check substrate conditions, building client relationships along the way. \n Process change orders by identifying out-of-scope work, estimating costs, and securing approvals.\n Perform quality control walkthroughs to make sure finished work meets spec and Higham quality standards.\n\n\nRequired Qualifications & Experience\n\n Minimum 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in trade estimating and project management.\n High school diploma or GED equivalent.\n Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.\n Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and bids simultaneously.\n Proven proficiency in takeoff tools such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift or Onscreen alongside MS Excel.\n Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications & Experience\n\n Associate or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field.\n Working knowledge of architectural specifications for commercial spaces.\n Strong understanding of coatings systems, surface preparation requirements, and application methods.\n Bilingual a plus.\n\n\nCompensation & Benefits\n\n Competitive base salary ranging from $85,000 to $105,000+ annually.\n Performance-based bonus incentives tied to project success and growth.\n 401(k) retirement savings program featuring employer matching.\n Bi-weekly pay cycle.\n Comprehensive health coverage including Medical and Dental insurance options.\n Health Savings Account (HSA) and life/disability insurance protection options.\n Tech package including a smartphone provided for business use or can opt for an allowance for using personal devices.\n Generous paid time off covering holidays, vacation time, and sick leave.\n Regular company events in a supportive, family-oriented culture.\n\n\nAbout Us\nHigham Company, Inc. is a commercial painting and wallcovering contractor serving clients throughout the DMV region, including general contractors, property managers, and end users.
