Position Overview Primary City/State: Casa Grande, Arizona Department Name: Culinary & Nutrition‑Hosp Shift: Day Job Category: Facilities, Environmental Services, and Culinary Sign‑On Bonus: $10,000 As a Registered Dietitian you will interact closely with medical providers, administration, nursing staff, therapy teams, and the culinary department on‑site to provide comprehensive nutritional assessments, develop appropriate nutrition care plans, monitor outcomes, provide patient and family nutrition counseling and education, develop Nutrition Standards of Practice and education materials in collaboration with peers, participate in interdisciplinary Health Care teams, and provide input into patient care policies, programs, quality improvement activities, and in‑service education. Shift: Mon‑Fri, 8‑hour days (flexible start and end times). Weekends and holidays on rotation. Location: Banner Casa Grande Medical Center – a 141‑bed acute‑care hospital located midway between Phoenix and Tucson, AZ, offering a wide spectrum of services including emergency, trauma, women’s care, maternity, surgical, orthopedic, laboratory, imaging, dialysis, rehabilitation, and more. Core Functions Provides comprehensive nutrition assessment of patients' nutritional needs, including nutrition‑focused physical exams as appropriate. Obtains timely and appropriate data and analyzes/interprets data based on evidence‑based standards and established practice guidelines. Demonstrates and maintains competency in enteral and parenteral clinical practice protocols and oral nutrition management standard of practice, as demonstrated by successful completion of initial competency exams and ongoing evaluation. Writes orders to initiate and manage the nutrition care of all assigned patients, including those receiving nutrition support (parenteral and enteral nutrition) per protocols. Evaluates effectiveness of the care plan and communicates effectively to other members of the healthcare team to provide optimal nutrition outcomes. Provides pertinent information in the medical records, patient plans of care, and/or clinical pathways while meeting regulatory requirements. Provides nutrition education to patients, families, staff, and other health care team professionals through development of effective teaching materials and in‑service programs; evaluates patient and/or family response to education. Provides leadership in area of coverage, monitors proper patient care procedures and acts as liaison with nursing areas. May participate in process improvement teams and serve as mentor to new staff and interns where assigned. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities in clinical areas to ensure optimal nutrition care outcomes. May participate in outcome studies as needed. Interacts with patients, families, health care providers, and nutrition/dietary staff to support high‑quality nutrition assessment, care planning, delivery, and measurement of outcomes. Communicates effectively to ensure optimum nutritional care and may provide community education. Minimum Qualifications Must possess knowledge of nutrition and dietetics demonstrated through the completion of a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or equivalent coursework. Must be a Registered Dietitian (RD) eligible based on academic and professional requirements defined by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) of The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Must possess RD credentials within 6 months of hire and maintain current registration through the CDR, with ongoing annual verification. Must hold current licensure as required by State law. Must be able to communicate effectively and function independently; effective at prioritizing assigned patient case load. Works in a behavioral health clinical setting serving children must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of employment.
