Description
At Capitol Imaging Services, we're a leading provider of diagnostic imaging services committed to delivering high-quality patient care through innovation and a compassionate approach. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a dynamic and compassionate part-time MRI Technologist. The shift is Mondays 8:00am-6:00pm and 2 Saturdays a month, 8:00am-4:00pm.
Job Summary:
The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures in an outpatient setting, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and compliance with established imaging protocols. This position requires technical expertise, strong communication skills, and a commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate MRI scanners to produce diagnostic images for interpretation by radiologists.
- Verify patient identification, review exam requisitions, and confirm appropriate imaging protocols.
- Prepare and position patients for MRI exams, ensuring safety and comfort throughout the procedure.
- Administer contrast agents per physician orders and institutional protocols.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions or discomfort during scans.
- Maintain detailed records of procedures and patient information in the PACS/RIS system.
- Follow all MRI safety policies, including screening of patients, staff, and visitors for contraindications.
- Regularly inspect equipment for proper function; report any technical issues promptly.
- Collaborate effectively with radiologists, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate, timely imaging results.
- Participate in continuing education to maintain certification and stay current on imaging technology advancements.
Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist or MRI program.
- Current ARRT (MR) certification or eligibility required; ARRT (R) preferred.
- Active state licensure (if applicable).
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Minimum 12 years of MRI experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical training will be considered.
- Knowledge of MRI safety standards, protocols, and equipment operation required.
