Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a fast-paced Operating Room position requiring a minimum of 3 years of experience, robotic surgery proficiency, and a PA or compact RN license.

Details

• Hospital-based Operating Room setting in a Level I Trauma, academic teaching environment
• Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts (7:00–17:30)
• 13-week contract
• Must be able to function independently across multiple surgical specialties including Robotics, Orthopedics, General, GYN, Urology, Bariatrics, ENT, Plastics, Vascular, Thoracic (excluding cardiac and open heart), and Trauma
• Da Vinci Xi Surgical System is the primary robotic platform; familiarity with Da Vinci 5 (DV5) is a plus
• Experience with both scrubbing and circulating is preferred
• On-call requirements include 2–3 call shifts within a 6-week matrix with a 30-minute response time required
• Weekend shifts required: 3–4 shifts within a 6-week matrix; weekend shifts may be days, evenings, or nights
• Holiday coverage required as needed; may be day, evening, or night shift
• Floating within the unit required as needed
• Epic EMR experience is heavily preferred
• Patient ratio is 1:1

Requirements

• Active PA RN license or multi-state compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC only)
• Minimum 3 years of OR RN experience, with at least 2 years out of orientation
• Level II Trauma OR experience required (1+ year); Level I Trauma experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Proficiency with Da Vinci Xi robotic surgical system required; must be able to function independently without refresher training
• Proficiency in robotic specialties including general, GYN, thoracic, and urology required
• Must be able to function independently across all assigned surgical specialties
• Epic EMR experience required

Additional Information

• Candidates undergo a clinical pre-screen to assess clinical fit before being forwarded to the manager; a manager interview is required
• Scrub and circulate skills are preferred; candidates proficient in both are strongly favored
• Experience with orthopedic or neurology robots is not applicable to this role and will not substitute for Da Vinci experience
• RTO is limited to a maximum of 7 days per contract; scheduling requests and blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated
• Facility is tobacco-free and fragrance-free
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
• Orientation modules are completed prior to start date and typically take 5–6 hours to complete
• May be required to care for COVID-positive patients
• 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years are required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained is required for consideration
• All time off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial application
