Collections Specialist

Job TitleResponsible for providing quality customer support for clients and taxpayers through phones, email, and correspondence, daily processing of payments, working delinquent accounts, and providing follow-up for clients and supervisors.Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerforms collections duties to secure outstanding tax audit liabilitiesFollow-up on delinquent accounts and NSF payments with invoicing, collection calls and processing correspondence.Compiles and sorts documents, such as audit discovery/findings documents and checks, substantiating business transactions.Prepares final documents and reports/assessments for signature and review per uniform procedures and per internal control procedures.Provide excellent customer service through inbound/outbound calls and emailsPrepares files for storage and maintains file log for items sent to client storage facilityAssist in research, resolve and record problemsBuild and maintain audit spreadsheets and queries in MS Office applications as needed.Complete tasks by deadline and with little supervisionMakes a minimum of 25 collection calls per dayPerform other duties as assignedEducation and ExperienceAssociate degree in accounting or business-related field preferredHigh school diploma or GED required.Minimum 3 years in an office environment, with heavy inbound/outbound phone experience. Heavy data entry (10-key and typing).Minimum 3 years customer service and / or collections experience.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesProficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to speak effectively with customers and employeesPositive attitude and team spirit.Work EnvironmentThe noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as the employee works in an office setting, at an individual workstation, using telephone and computer.Physical DemandsMust be able to remain in a stationary position for most of the dayConstantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a printer/copy machineThis position needs to occasionally move about inside the officeThe person in this position frequently communicates via telephoneCompany OverviewWith the backing of four decades of public sector expertise and corporate capability, Neumo has successfully supported government services.
