Position Summary

Beauty Chain Manufacturing (BCM) is seeking a highly innovative and results-driven Senior Color Chemist to lead the development of cutting-edge color cosmetic products across eye, face, and lip categories. This role is instrumental in bringing concepts to life—from ideation through commercialization—while ensuring the highest standards of quality, performance, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with creativity, curiosity, and a passion for innovation in the beauty industry.

BCM is a rapidly growing cosmetic manufacturing company based in Reno, Nevada, specializing in the development and production of high-quality personal care and beauty products for leading brands nationwide. We offer end-to-end capabilities across formulation, packaging, and production, supporting both emerging and established brands in bringing innovative products to market.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Lead the formulation and development of innovative color cosmetic products, including powders, hot pours, and emulsions, from concept through final production
• Drive “blue sky” innovation by conceptualizing new product ideas and reverse engineering competitive benchmarks
• Utilize Design of Experiments (DOE) methodologies to efficiently optimize formulations and processes
• Provide expert technical leadership and guidance to laboratory, support, and manufacturing teams
• Evaluate and approve batches to ensure consistency, quality, and adherence to specifications
• Design and oversee stability testing protocols; analyze data to ensure product integrity over time
• Maintain meticulous and organized documentation of formulations, batch records, and specifications
• Collaborate cross-functionally with customers and raw material vendors to support product development and identify emerging technologies
• Proactively monitor industry trends, ingredients, and innovations to maintain a competitive edge
• Ensure a safe, compliant, and well-maintained laboratory environment in accordance with GLP and GMP standards
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment
• Support additional projects and initiatives as assigned by leadership

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline required
• 10+ years of progressive R&D experience in color cosmetics, with a proven track record of successful product launches
  

Skills & Knowledge

• Deep expertise in cosmetic chemistry and formulation principles within personal care and color cosmetics
• Demonstrated success in partnering with raw material vendors to identify and leverage innovative ingredients and technologies
• Strong working knowledge of GMP regulations and industry best practices
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly present technical information to diverse audiences
• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and documentation accuracy
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, thrive under pressure, and meet tight deadlines
• Proactive, self-motivated, and adaptable with a strong sense of ownership
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Professional, collaborative, and solutions-oriented approach

This position is available in Reno, Nevada; Los Angeles, California; or Dallas, Texas.
