Data Center Project Engineer

Required Skills & Experience 1.\t10-15 years of hands-on Data Center experience where they were acting as an Engineer – Project Manager.\na.\tPreferably building or deploying infrastructure such as cabling, rack and stack, or network hardware installation\n2.\tExperience working in large scale Data Center Environments\na.\tHyperscalers, Colo (Colocation) – e.g. Microsoft, Amazon, Google, META, Facebook, etc. \n3.\tHave been apart of a large build out and managing different teams\n4.\tStrong experience with Fiber, cabling, labeling and asset management \n5.\t100% okay with the travel requirements + overtime work (50-70 hours a week when deployed)\n6.\tComfortable working in a construction zone wearing hard hat, safety glasses, steel toed boots, etc. Nice to Have Skills & Experience • \tBICSI Technician or RCDD \n•\tCCNA/CCNP \n•\tOSHA 10/30 \n•\tFluke/EXFO certifications \n•\tAutoCAD, Revit, Visio \n•\tSmartsheet or MS Project \n•\tBachelor's degree Job Description The Data Center Project Engineer (Lead Level) serves as a senior technical leader responsible for the design, deployment, and delivery of physical infrastructure and networking solutions within enterprise, colocation, and hyperscale data center environments. Reporting to the Data Center Field Engineering Practice Lead, this role provides end-to-end ownership of complex infrastructure implementations, including structured cabling systems, fiber optic networks, rack-and-stack deployments, and data center networking infrastructure.\n\nThis is a highly visible customer-facing position that bridges engineering design and field execution. The successful candidate will lead onsite deployments, coordinate technicians and subcontractors, oversee quality assurance efforts, and ensure all deliverables meet technical, operational, and customer standards. This role requires extensive travel (80-90%) and the ability to thrive in fast-paced, construction-based data center environments.\n\nSome of the core areas the team will be looking for include:\n\t1. Enterprise or colocation data center experience \n\t2. Strong structured cabling and fiber knowledge, including Cat6A and OM3/OM4/OS2 fiber \n\t3. Rack-and-stack and physical infrastructure deployment experience \n\t4. Understanding of modern data center networking and spine-leaf architecture \n\t5.
