Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Unit

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a Medical Surgical unit to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced hospital setting. The ideal candidate will demonstrate clinical expertise and a commitment to promoting a safe and therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, and implement individualized nursing care plans for patients in the Medical Surgical unit.
• Administer medications and perform treatments accurately following hospital protocols.
• Monitor patient vital signs, respond to emergencies, and report significant changes to healthcare team.
• Educate patients and families regarding health conditions, procedures, and post-discharge care.
• Document patient information thoroughly in the Meditech system and ensure compliance with policies.
• Supervise and collaborate with nursing staff and support personnel to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Texas RN license; temporary licenses are not accepted.
• Possess at least 2 years of recent hospital experience in Medical Surgical units.
• Demonstrate proficiency with Meditech electronic documentation system.
• Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Be able to perform general procedures such as IV initiation, Foley placement, dressing changes, and NG tube management.
• Exhibit excellent patient communication skills and adhere to dress code, grooming, and professionalism standards.
