Quick Facts: Location: 4000 Johnson Road, Steubenville, OH 43952 Start Date: 09/05/2026 End Date/Duration: 09/14/2026, with ongoing coverage as needed Shift: 24-hour call, weekend and weekday rotations Hours/week: Varied based on schedule Employment Type: Locum/Temporary License/Certs: Ohio medical license, board-certified in Surgery or Cardiothoracic Surgery Experience: Prior experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery (CABG, Thoracic procedures, Vascular is a plus) Pay & Benefits: Pay Rate: Competitive hourly and 24-hour call rates discussed upon application Benefits: Weekly pay via direct deposit Comprehensive medical benefits (W-2) Paid sick time in accordance with applicable laws Licensure, certification, travel, and other reimbursements when applicable Robust referral bonus program Dedicated team committed to your success throughout your assignment What You ll Do: Provide inpatient care for Cardiothoracic Surgery patients, including rounding on 4-6 patients daily Be on call for emergent procedures, including CABG and thoracic surgeries Perform surgeries and procedures directly at the facility; patients are not transferred elsewhere Collaborate with support staff including PAs, NPs, and office staff Manage complex cases, including vascular procedures (bonus) and high-acuity patients Participate in emergency and scheduled surgical procedures as needed What You Need: Ohio medical license and board certification in Surgery or Cardiothoracic Surgery Experience performing CABG, thoracic, and vascular surgeries Ability to handle a high-volume, complex inpatient surgical caseload Strong clinical judgment and teamwork skills Flexibility to work weekend and on-call shifts About the Assignment: This position is based at a leading hospital in Steubenville, OH, providing inpatient Cardiothoracic Surgery care. The facility handles a significant volume of CABG surgeries ( 74 annually) and requires a skilled surgeon to support emergency and scheduled procedures. The role involves outpatient follow-up and inpatient care, ensuring seamless patient management with a dedicated team.
