Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding an Infectious Disease Physician to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals / South Brooklyn Health. South Brooklyn Health is a redesigned health care campus featuring the new 11‑floor Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hospital which provides emergency care, modern labor & delivery suites, and state‑of‑the‑art surgical services. The new Health & Wellness Institute offers outpatient services—from primary and preventive care to specialty services for children and adults—all designed to keep our community healthy. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University and NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine to maintain its high standards of healthcare delivery.

Opportunity Details

• Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient HIV and infectious disease care, including services at Jacobi’s designated AIDS/ID Center.
• Perform thorough patient evaluations, physical examinations, and develop individualized, evidence‑based treatment plans.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic infectious conditions in a high‑volume academic medical setting.
• Order, interpret, and integrate diagnostic and therapeutic testing to guide clinical decision‑making.
• Prescribe and manage appropriate pharmacologic and non‑pharmacologic treatment regimens.
• Collaborate with seven Infectious Disease Attendings and multidisciplinary care teams to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care.
• Educate, mentor, and supervise Advanced Practice Providers, Residents, and Medical Students.
• Support the academic mission through teaching and clinical instruction as part of an Albert Einstein College of Medicine appointment.
• Maintain continuity of care through flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
• Share clinical responsibilities with Attending Physicians, Physician Assistants, and Nurse Practitioners.

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted New York State medical license.
• Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Infectious Disease.
• Must meet the qualifications of an HIV Specialist as defined by the NYSDOH AIDS Institute.
• Current DEA registration, Controlled Substances licensure, and BLS certification (or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire).

Wages and Benefits

Annual Base Salary: $246,000 (Board Eligible); $251,000 (Board Certified) based on a 40‑hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.

The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $366,120 (Board Eligible) and $371,620 (Board Certified), which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below.

• Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $55,520.
• Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
• 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
  • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
  • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
• Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.
