Job Title: Cab Crane Operator Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Cab Crane Operator to safely manage and operate overhead cab cranes in our facility, ensuring the smooth transportation of raw materials, fabricated components, and finished products.

• Safely operate overhead cab cranes to move materials and products throughout the facility.
• Lift, position, and transport large and heavy steel assemblies to support fabrication and welding operations.
• Collaborate closely with welders, fitters, supervisors, and production personnel to ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Perform pre-shift equipment inspections and report any mechanical or safety concerns.
• Follow load charts, lifting procedures, and established rigging practices.
• Coordinate lifts using hand signals, radios, or other approved communication methods.
• Verify load stability and proper rigging before moving materials.
• Maintain awareness of personnel and equipment in the work area for safe operation.
• Assist with general material handling and shop support activities as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.

• Previous overhead cab crane operating experience is required.
• Ability to safely move large, heavy, and irregularly shaped loads in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• Knowledge of crane safety practices, load handling, and rigging fundamentals.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, lift plans, and production schedules.
• Strong awareness of workplace safety and hazard recognition.
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and production personnel.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Experience operating overhead cranes in a steel fabrication, heavy manufacturing, or industrial environment.
• Previous experience handling large weldments, structural steel, or pressure vessel components.
• Formal crane operator or rigging training.
• Forklift operating experience.
• Knowledge of rigging equipment, slings, shackles, and lifting devices.
• Experience working around welders, fitters, and fabrication teams.
• Basic blueprint reading or shop drawing interpretation.
• Previous experience on second shift or in a fast-paced production environment.

Our facility operates on a first shift schedule from 7:00am to 3:30pm. Employees are expected to maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to safety policies and using necessary PPE. The role involves working closely with various production personnel, including welders and fitters, to ensure efficient operations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Struthers, OH.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Struthers,OH.
