Senior ServiceNow Developer

Job Overview Software Engineer responsible for delivering highly complex solutions with significant system linkages, dependencies, and associated risk. Lead analysis, design, coding, testing, and bug resolution for ServiceNow products, specializing in ServiceNow ITSM and Mobile components. Build clean, scalable, reusable code following best practices such as code reviews and unit testing. Collaborate with product owners, platform architects, and business partners to design and implement features that scale across multiple business lines. Location This office‑centric position requires 5 days a week in one of the following locations: Atlanta, GA; Charlotte, NC; Raleigh, NC; Wilson, NC. Responsibilities Participate in testing, implementation, maintenance, and escalated support of Truist's most complex solutions. Develop customized coding, software integration, analysis, configuration, and tool usage for complex projects. Ensure adherence to company and industry standards while providing technical consultation on challenging situations. Write and run unit tests, and devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering system constraints. Apply sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions. Complete technical peer reviews of teammates' development efforts, ensuring compliance with QA and best practices. Act as a technical expert, solving the most complex and unusual issues without carrying management responsibilities. In an Agile environment, act as an Agile champion, deliver high-quality working software, automate reusable tasks, refine user stories, and support integration and functional testing. Provide warranty support and transfer knowledge to production support. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree and six to ten years of experience or equivalent education and software engineering training. In‑depth knowledge of information systems and ability to identify, apply, and implement best practices. Understanding of key business processes and competitive strategies related to the IT function. Ability to plan and manage projects and solve complex problems by applying best practices. Ability to provide direction and mentor less experienced teammates; interpret and convey complex information. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree and ten+ years of experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Knowledge of ServiceNow supporting specific applications, technology platforms, programming languages, systems, or business segments. Banking or financial services experience; solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software design with strong analytical and debugging skills. Professional experience building high‑quality apps or services from the ground up and scaling at an enterprise level. Experience with open‑source tools and frameworks; cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Strong understanding of SOA and/or Open API methodologies and service architectures. Experience using web servers, application containers, caching technologies, relational databases (SQL, stored procedures, data modeling), messaging systems (MQ, JMS), build tools (Git, Maven, Jenkins). Proven ability to write comprehensive unit and integration tests. Additional Job Requirements Sitting >50% of the time; standing 25‑50%; walking 25‑50%. Visual/Audio/Speaking: ability to interpret client information and communicate via phone and in person. Manual Dexterity/Keyboarding: use standard office equipment, PC keyboard and mouse, copy/fax machines, printers. Availability: work all scheduled hours, including overtime as directed by manager/supervisor and required by business need. Travel: minimal and up to 10%.
