Google Analytics Developer

Salary: $125,000 - 165,000 per year Requirements:

• We require 5+ years of experience in web analytics implementation, analytics development, or digital measurement.
• We require hands-on expertise configuring, implementing, and troubleshooting Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Tag Manager (GTM), including tags, triggers, variables, custom events, and data-layer integration.
• We require proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for analytics instrumentation and debugging.
• We require experience designing measurement plans and event-tracking specifications, implementing data-layer events, and validating custom tracking across web applications.
• We require a strong understanding of the GA4 event model, conversions and key events, user properties, attribution, and reporting.
• We require familiarity with browser developer tools, debugging techniques, cross-domain tracking, campaign tracking, UTM parameters, and traffic attribution.
• We require experience creating reports and dashboards in GA4; Looker Studio experience is preferred.
• We require strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to communicate technical tracking requirements to developers, analysts, and business stakeholders.
• We require experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Analytics, Marketing Technology, or a related field.
• We require the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance if required for the project.
• We value additional experience with BigQuery and SQL-based analysis, Looker Studio reporting automation, Google Ads conversion tracking, consent management platforms and Google Consent Mode, server-side GTM, Firebase and mobile app analytics, A/B testing, Adobe Analytics or other enterprise platforms, data visualization, ETL pipelines, and analytics data governance.

• We implement, configure, and maintain GA4 across websites and digital applications.
• We develop and manage GTM tracking solutions, including tags, triggers, variables, and custom data-layer events.
• We implement custom events, conversion tracking, user properties, and key performance indicators based on business requirements.
• We work with front-end developers to build and maintain data layers that support accurate event and user-interaction tracking.
• We configure cross-domain tracking, referral exclusions where appropriate, and user-journey measurement.
• We integrate analytics tracking into websites and web applications using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern front-end frameworks.
• We implement and troubleshoot tracking for e-commerce, form submissions, navigation, downloads, and other user interactions as applicable.
• We validate implementations with browser developer tools, GTM Preview mode, GA4 DebugView, and other browser-based debugging tools.
• We analyze analytics data to identify trends, user behavior patterns, conversion issues, and opportunities for improvement.
• We create and maintain GA4 reports, dashboards, explorations, and audience segments, and integrate GA4 data with Looker Studio, BigQuery, and other platforms as needed.
• We investigate data discrepancies, missing events, duplicate tracking, and tag-firing issues.
• We establish implementation standards, documentation, naming conventions, and quality assurance procedures.
• We support analytics migrations, upgrades, and transitions from Universal Analytics or other legacy platforms to GA4 where applicable.
• We collaborate with stakeholders to define measurement plans, tracking specifications, and analytics requirements.
• We ensure implementations follow applicable privacy requirements, consent-management policies, and organizational security standards.
• We participate in Agile development, code reviews, testing, release management, and production support.
