Clinician Opportunity in Community Setting

Great opportunity for a clinician looking to work in a community setting using a medical model of wellness! Learn how to work with a variety of clinical populations in both land and pool settings while improving your clinical skills. Benefit eligible 20 hour per week position with potential for growth.

Compensation Pay Range: $20.05 - $28.00

Essential Functions

• Patient Care: Instructs community exercise programs in land, aquatic, and virtual based classes; Instructs personal training sessions; Screens community participants for safety/appropriateness for community exercise program; Provides education to community participants within scope of position; Monitors class volumes and alerts community programs manager if too high or low; Inspires participant loyalty to programs via class instruction techniques
• Environment and Department Maintenance/Infection Control: Assists in the maintenance of the department's overall physical environment; Maintains practices according to infection control guidelines for the department; Monitors pool chemistry per departmental guidelines as applicable to area; Works with Rehab Team members to ensure all equipment is cleaned before and after each use
• Clerical Duties: Performs clerical duties to assist with daily operations of the department including: Scanning community participant documents including MD clearance, health history, participant waiver; Scheduling appointments as applicable; Assists with Customer Collection functionality in Workday as appropriate; Answering phones; Calling patients as directed; Photocopying and filing community programs paperwork; Faxing; Data Collection; Relaying messages to community programs manager and receptionist
• Communication: Communicates effectively with staff, peers, colleagues, patients, and family members in all manners of communication (written, verbal, non-verbal); Appropriately uses all forms of South Shore Health communication in accordance with standard practices; Responds in a timely manner when feedback is requested
• Educational Activities: Serves as mentor to new community programs staff; Actively participates in department projects/events/activities including program marketing; Actively promotes rehabilitation services to frontline colleagues, patients, and families; Serves as ambassador for department to visitors (tours/observation of patient care); Assists with continuous Quality Improvement activities, as directed; Takes responsibility for continuing professional development education
• Technology and Learning: Possesses a willingness and ability to learn and utilize new technology and procedures that continue to develop in their role and throughout the organization; Embraces technological advances that allow us to communicate information effectively and efficiently based on role; Accurately uses software applications as needed for job performance

Non-Essential Functions

• Demonstrates willingness to identify and/or assume activities relative to the developmental needs of the department and hospital
• Performs other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Minimum Education - Preferred: Bachelor's degree in exercise-related field preferred

Minimum Work Experience: Minimum of one year previous healthcare/exercise experience preferred

Previous coursework and/or participation in work or volunteer experience in the area of health, fitness, or athletics

Required Classes/Skills: BLS - Basic Life Support

Monday-Thursday afternoon into early evening hours. Some flexibility with schedule.
