Job Description:

This position involves providing critical care in a Medical Surgical Cardiac ICU with responsibilities including titration of medication drips, reading and interpreting telemetry strips, and responding to varied and complex patient conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care in a 16-bed ICU setting with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio, occasionally 1:1.
• Manage common conditions such as sepsis, STEMI, COVID, stroke, and more.
• Utilize equipment such as Gaymar Hypothermia, Arrow Balloon Pump, and Camino Neuro monitoring.
• Titrate medication drips including sedation, paralytics, pressors, antihypertensives, heparin, and insulin.
• Perform tasks related to respiratory therapy equipment from nasal cannula to ventilator troubleshooting.
• Conduct bedside shift reports and participate in intentional hourly rounding.
• Float to other units as needed, primarily to PCU or throughout the hospital.

Requirements:

• Valid RN license and driver’s license confirmation for distance requirements.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
• Completion of a pass/fail skills exam with a required 90% score during orientation.
• Adherence to fingernail policy prohibiting artificial nails.
• Willingness to embrace and provide care to a culturally diverse patient base.
