Position Overview:

We are seeking a full-time Counter Sales & Customer Service Representative to join our growing team and provide exceptional service to our customers. This role serves as the first point of contact for walk-in and call-in customers, assisting with product inquiries, order entry, quotes, will-call coordination, and sales support in a fast-paced industrial distribution environment. The Counter Sales & Customer Service Representative plays a key role in delivering an outstanding customer experience while supporting inside sales activities, maintaining showroom organization, and helping customers find the industrial products and solutions they need. This position offers the opportunity to develop product knowledge across hose, safety, welding, and industrial supply lines while building a long-term career within a growing industrial distributor.

Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist walk-in customers at the sales counter.
• Answer incoming phone calls and respond to customer inquiries.
• Process customer orders, quotes, and will-call requests.
• Support inside sales activities and customer quote requests as needed.
• Coordinate customer pickups and deliveries.
• Maintain positive relationships with customers and provide exceptional service.
• Assist with showroom organization, pricing updates, product displays, and merchandising.
• Stock shelves and help maintain inventory accuracy.
• Support outside account managers and sales team members as needed.
• Learn and become knowledgeable about Gopher Industrial's product lines, including hose, safety, welding, lubricants, and industrial supplies.
• Participate in ongoing product, vendor, and safety training programs.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Assist with after-hours customer support through the rotating on-call schedule.
• Work occasional overtime as business needs require.

Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of customer service, counter sales, inside sales, sales support, or related industrial sales experience required.
• Experience within an industrial distribution, welding, safety, hose, MRO, construction supply, manufacturing, or related environment strongly preferred.
• Experience working with industrial products such as hose, safety, welding, MRO, or related industrial product lines is highly preferred.
• Proven ability to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced customer-facing role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-starter with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently.
• Dependable attendance and reliability are essential.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Experience with order entry, quoting, inventory management, or sales support is preferred.
• Associate degree, technical degree, military experience, or equivalent work experience is a plus.

Schedule:

• Full-time
• Monday through Friday
• 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM

Compensation:

• Overall estimated annual earnings, including hourly pay, overtime, and bonus opportunities, generally range from $41,600 to $59,000.
• Overtime and bonus earnings are not guaranteed.
• Additional compensation opportunities through participation in the rotating on-call schedule
