Job Description

Job Summary:
The CT Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality computed tomography procedures, ensuring accurate imaging and patient safety. They operate imaging equipment, follow protocols, and verify radiopharmaceutical doses in compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

• Operate CT imaging equipment utilizing appropriate kV and mA techniques to produce diagnostic-quality images.
• Perform daily quality control and calibration checks on all imaging equipment to ensure optimal functioning.
• Inject patients with radiopharmaceuticals according to physician orders and prescribed protocols.
• Maintain accurate documentation by completing logs, manuals, charge sheets, and reporting equipment issues.
• Conduct quality assurance and safety tests, adhering to radiation safety guidelines and ALARA principles.
• Manage patient records and digital data, preparing films and electronic data for radiologist interpretation.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of a JCERT-approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Valid New York State License (L.R.T.) in Radiologic Technology.
• Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography and CT.
• Minimum of 1 year of CT experience required.
• BLS certification is preferred.
