Transportation Manager

We are immediately hiring a 1st Shift Transportation Manager, internally titled Customer Logistics Manager, at Ryder’s Supply Chain Solutions division in San Antonio, TX. The role is responsible for supervising DOT‑regulated drivers, ensuring equipment compliance, and partnering with the Operations team to support daily logistics activities. Partner closely with the Operations team to support daily logistics activities. Maintain consistent communication with the Shop team to ensure equipment readiness and compliance. Supervise, coordinate, and oversee day‑to‑day operations across multiple business groups. Lead and support a team of 120–130 commercial drivers. Manage dispatch operations and develop daily load plans. Guide indirect reports (Supervisors), aligning workloads with operational needs. Champion key operational initiatives assigned by leadership. Provide off‑shift support during customer network disruptions or crises. Make timely decisions and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Essential Functions Customer service satisfaction and expectation management. Staffing performance management and development of exempt and non‑exempt employees. Day‑to‑day planning and scheduling. Health and Safety Management; compliance with state, local, and federal regulations. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School diploma/GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain preferred. Two (2) years or more relevant experience in supply chain, logistics, warehouse, or related field. One (1) year or more direct supervisory or leadership experience. Proficiency in MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access. Advanced knowledge of logistics industry, local and federal regulations, and manufacturing/production.
