CT Technologist II

Conduct complex procedures and tests using Computed Tomography (CT) equipment to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data. Collaborate with various teams to obtain necessary imaging for advanced diagnoses to aid in treatment options. Assist the radiologist in performing high-risk invasive diagnostic techniques such as needle biopsies and CT-guided joint injections. Contribute input for alternative approaches and adjustment of scan parameters to limit radiation dosage. Evaluate contra-indications such as medications and patient preparation, notifying care teams and coordinating care prior to the patient's arrival. Work with Radiologists and other providers to identify patient needs to complete exams or discuss alternative exams. Perform CTA perfusion, trauma series, and portable CT procedures as defined by procedures and/or physician orders. Demonstrate ability to train CT Tech I team members on high-risk exams and procedures. Recognize diagnostic characteristics of normal and abnormal scans, alerting Radiologist for escalation of care if necessary. Demonstrate ability to manipulate parameters for Cardiac exams, including monitoring devices and equipment settings. Analyze scan data throughout the examination to ensure comprehensive exams are completed and sufficient data provided. Triages care for general anesthesia exams and provides education for care teams to ensure optimal parameters and equipment settings. Obtain images per protocols, manipulate them according to protocols, and perform multi-planar and 3D reconstruction of image data. Administer oral and rectal contrast to patients according to protocols, establish intravenous lines, and administer IV contrast following proper procedures.
