ob Summary

The ICU/PCU Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care to critically ill and progressive care patients. The RN is responsible for assessing patient conditions, developing and implementing care plans, administering medications and treatments, monitoring patient progress, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing monitoring.
• Provide direct nursing care to ICU and PCU patients.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as prescribed.
• Operate and monitor critical care equipment.
• Recognize and respond to changes in patient conditions.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and recovery processes.
• Adhere to facility policies, procedures, and patient safety standards.

Requirements

• Active RN license (Nebraska or compact state license, as applicable).
• Current BLS certification.
• ACLS certification required.
• Recent ICU and/or PCU nursing experience.
• Strong critical thinking and clinical assessment skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.

Important Facility Information

Regional West operates under Low/Mid/High Performer Expectations . Travelers are expected to meet established performance standards throughout the assignment. If a traveler is determined not to be meeting the required performance expectations, the contract may be terminated immediately.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous travel nursing experience.
• Experience with ventilators, cardiac monitoring, and critical care protocols.
• NIHSS certification (preferred if applicable).
