Associate QC Chemist

Associate QC Chemist Job Summary Reporting to the QC Supervisor – Finished Products, this position performs analyses of materials, drug substances and drug products following cGMPs. Supports method development activities and performs method validations with supervision. Maintains and proposes improvements to lab quality systems. Responsibilities Perform, interpret, evaluate, and record routine and some non‑routine analytical lab tests of materials, drug substances and drug products following CGMPs. Execute protocols and experiments as written. Maintain instruments and equipment, set up instruments, conduct sample tests, perform routine calibration, and ensure adequate supply of test materials. Maintain and update training records in a timely manner. Support method development/validation and method transfer activities. Proactively identify issues, communicate, propose and implement solutions, perform laboratory troubleshooting, and provide input for investigations. Maintain laboratory compliance with SOPs, cGMPs, HS&E requirements, FDA, DEA, USP, EP, and OSHA regulations. Implement and monitor training to meet GMP, regulatory, and customer requirements; monitor effectiveness and modify approach as needed. Qualifications A.A.S. with 5+ years or B.S. with 2+ years experience in chemistry or related science discipline. Experience with laboratory analytical techniques. Ability to operate and maintain HPLC systems and/or dissolution equipment and spectroscopic instrumentation (UV/Vis, FTIR). Experience with HPLC method development and validation in a pharmaceutical environment is desirable. Experience in written notebook documentation practices. Basic Outlook skills and intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel skills; familiarity with LIMS and instrument operating software. Demonstrated visual acuity, color recognition, finger dexterity, ability to read, write, and communicate in English; ability to lift up to 35 pounds. Work may involve repetitive use of hands, keyboarding, fine manipulation, and occasional weekends, holidays, and irregular hours. Physical Requirements / Environment Visual acuity, color recognition, finger dexterity, and English communication. Sitting and standing approximately 50% of the day. Repetitive use of hands, occasional lifting up to 35 lbs. Normal office environment with occasional controlled environment work requiring removal of jewelry and cosmetics. Compensation 22.00 – 25.00 USD per hour. Individual salaries are within the compensation range and are determined by market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise, and internal equity considerations. Total Compensation Package 100% employer‑paid medical premiums (annual value $2,000–$6,000+). 401(k) contributions: 6% match plus an additional 4% company‑funded contribution.
