Maintenance Electrical Technician

The Maintenance Electrical Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems, industrial equipment, and automated machinery to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations. This position performs preventive and corrective maintenance while supporting continuous improvement initiatives that maximize equipment uptime and production efficiency. The ideal candidate possesses strong electrical troubleshooting skills, experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Operations, Engineering, and Production teams. Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain industrial electrical systems and manufacturing equipment Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals Install, modify, and test electrical components, motors, drives, sensors, and control systems Perform electrical wiring, conduit installation, and equipment modifications in accordance with applicable electrical codes and company standards Respond to equipment breakdowns and complete repairs in a timely manner to minimize production downtime Inspect equipment to identify potential failures and recommend corrective actions Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, relocations, and capital improvement projects Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and repair documentation Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), electrical safety requirements, and OSHA regulations Maintain a clean and organized work area Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that improve equipment reliability, safety, and operational efficiency Perform other maintenance duties and special projects as assigned Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED Technical certificate or equivalent experience in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field Minimum of three (3) years of industrial electrical maintenance experience Experience troubleshooting electrical control systems in a manufacturing environment Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams Knowledge of motors, motor controls, sensors, relays, contactors, VFDs, and industrial electrical components Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Preferred Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or related field Experience troubleshooting PLC‑controlled equipment Experience with robotics, automated manufacturing equipment, or conveyor systems Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) Industrial electrician license or other applicable technical certifications Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Knowledge of industrial electrical systems and automated manufacturing equipment Understanding of OSHA regulations and electrical safety practices Strong mechanical aptitude Excellent communication and teamwork skills Ability to work under pressure during equipment failures Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement Ability to prioritize work while maintaining a high level of quality Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, and reaching Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to work from ladders, lifts, and elevated platforms Ability to work in varying temperatures and manufacturing environments Ability to distinguish wire colors and safely perform electrical troubleshooting Ability to work overtime or respond to emergency maintenance needs as required #J-18808-Ljbffr Murrelektronik North America
