Medical Assistant (Front Office)

Actalent is hiring a Medical Assistant to support a clinic in New Braunfels, TX. This is a front-office focused role ideal for candidates who excel in a fast-paced medical environment and possess strong patient service and insurance verification experience.

Responsibilities:

• Answer incoming phone calls professionally and efficiently
• Perform patient check-in and check-out procedures
• Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage
• Process prior authorizations
• Maintain accurate patient charts and medical records
• Schedule appointments and coordinate patient care activities
• Update demographic and insurance information in EMR systems
• Provide administrative support to clinic staff and providers
• Occasionally assist with back-office duties as needed

Required Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in front desk medical office operations
• High School Diploma or GED (verification required prior)
• Active BLS/CPR Certification
• Strong computer skills and EMR experience
• Professional communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
• Experience with Athena EMR

Job Type & Location:

This is a contract position based out of New Braunfels, TX.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
