Ambulatory Surgery Team Lead

Community Memorial Hamilton, NY 13346, USA Pay or shift range: $90,000 USD to $115,000 USD The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons. Carries out nursing interventions safely and accurately utilizing knowledge, judgment, and skill to implement physicians’ orders and the nursing plan of care. Works independently with limited direct supervision using policies, nursing standards and professional judgment. Prioritizes workloads in work areas in coordination with team members and OR Nurse Manager. Administers medications and intravenous solutions skillfully and correctly. Effectively coordinates and assumes job responsibilities of team members during absences. Arranges to have needed supplies and equipment on hand. Creates a working climate that provides growth and job satisfaction of team members. Performs documentation in the nursing unit and in the patient’s record accurately, concisely and in a timely manner. Supports and enforces infection control policies and procedures. Initiate and maintain IV and Venous Access Ports (VAP) according to Hospital policies. Assist with lab draws as needed. Ability to operate IV pumps. Apply and maintain Wound Vac Pumps and dressing changes. Assist with minor procedures in the procedure room with providers. Assist in Surgery with Admission and Discharge when needed. Ability to operate all equipment and perform all procedures in nursing department. Demonstrates knowledge, abilities and skills required to perform a wide variety of nursing functions. Mathematical ability necessary to compute drug dosages accurately. Completion of unit specific competencies as scheduled. Competencies will be a minimum of annually. In addition to the functions described above, this role may include other responsibilities and duties as assigned on occasion, based upon Community Memorial Hospital needs or requirements. Coordinates any staffing needs (Scheduling, time off requests, including payroll duties) Oversees and is responsible for PACU, Pre & Post (ASU), PAT, Endo Responsible for placing supply orders for Endo and ASU Job Requirements: A valid NYS Nursing License from an Accredited School of Nursing/University/College Outstanding organizational ability. A great team player with excellent communication skills. Even-tempered with emotional and physical stamina. At least five years of Ambulatory Surgery experience required. Preferred experience with high-acuity orthopedic procedures, Endoscopy procedures, Transfusions, Cardiac Procedures and dressing changes. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Successful completion of ACLS course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current ACLS certification. Successful completion of PALS course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current PALS certification.
