Job Opportunity – ICU Registered Nurse – West Virginia

Start Date: ASAP

Location: West Virginia

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 36 hours per week, weekdays with every other weekend; 12-hour orientation; 2:1 patient ratios (days, nights, and weekends); floating required as needed

Highlights:

• 13-week contract in a 2-bed ICU unit with average daily census of 0.2 patients per day
• Comprehensive critical care case mix including ventilator management, conscious sedation, telemetry monitoring, and vasoactive drip titration
• Electronic medical records system utilizing CPSI/CERNER for documentation
• Interdisciplinary team support including respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, physical therapy, and phlebotomy
• Adult and geriatric patient population with advanced critical care interventions
• Orientation every other Monday with non-billable modules requiring 2-6 hours completion prior to start

Requirements:

• Current RN License (West Virginia or Compact state license required; pending license accepted for submission)
• Minimum 2 years of registered nursing experience required
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS (must be American Heart Association), NIHSS
• Preferred Certifications: CCRN
• Required Skills: Conscious sedation, telemetry monitoring, ventilator management, arterial line management, central line care, BiPAP/CPAP, blood product administration, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, vasoactive drip titration, ABG interpretation, dysrhythmia management, and emergency medications
• Additional Skills: IV access, phlebotomy, 12-lead EKG acquisition, procedural sedation monitoring, hypothermia protocol, high-flow nasal cannula, and multi-system organ failure management
• Minimum 2 manager or charge nurse references from the past 2 years required
• Permanent address must be 100+ miles from the facility (candidates 75-100 miles considered case-by-case)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
