Job Overview The Environmental Service Hospital Housekeepers may work in any location on client premises. They clean and maintain facilities in a healthcare campus, performing tasks such as cleaning rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas. Responsibilities may vary by account and client requirements. Daily Responsibilities Cleans and polishes lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim. Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms. Sweeps and/or vacuums floors. Dusts furniture and equipment. Polishes metalwork. Washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills. Empties wastebaskets and transports trash and waste to the disposal area. Replenishes bathroom supplies. Transports small equipment or tools between departments. Job Qualifications Experience in the janitorial industry is a plus. Medical cleaning experience is a plus. Post‑offer medical, background screening, and drug test required. High school diploma or GED required. Physical Demands The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear. Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time. Requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 50 lbs. Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective lenses. Possible exposure to chemicals requiring special clothing or safety equipment. The work environment may expose the employee to fumes, airborne particles, and occasionally work near moving mechanical parts.
