Job Details: Job Location: CWC Mar Vista - Los Angeles, CA, Salary Range: $88200.00 - $10540740.00Salary, A CWC Occupational Therapist (OT) is an enthusiastic, skilled, and innovative professional who will assess and provide comprehensive occupational services across our Regional and schools. This innovative professional will design therapeutic interventions that celebrate each student’s unique potential while supporting their academic, social-emotional, and functional development. The OT will embrace our constructivist approach, collaborating with our multicultural community to help students become confident, capable citizens of the world. Through creative problem-solving and evidence-based practices, the OT will support students in assessing their educational program while fostering independence, curiosity, and individual responsibility. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and assessments to determine student needs and develop appropriate remediation, instructional plans and strategies Collaborate with teams to develop and implement IEPs addressing students’ physical and functional needs. Design and implement a variety evidence-based instructional activities aligned with student’s individualized occupational therapy goals/objectives Perform occupational therapy screenings Follow and implement treatment plans Track service delivery in Welligent on a weekly basis Implement and modify treatment plans based on student progress and needs Conduct occupational therapy screenings Document student progress towards meeting established goals and objectives Conduct formal assessments Participate in IEP meetings of students on assigned caseload Partner with teachers to ensure that students meet the goals outlined in their IEPs Develop and conduct training opportunities for classroom staff and parents on the role of occupational therapy, normal sensory motor development, and other topics as required Monitor and evaluate equipment and assistive technology needs for students Maintain regular communication with families regarding student progress toward IEP goals Collect and analyze student data to track school performance and student achievement in accordance with our educational model Core Competencies Clinical Excellence & Innovation: Demonstrated expertise in pediatric occupational therapy assessment, evidence-based interventions, and treatment planning that supports diverse student needs and academic success Cultural Competence & Equity: Deep understanding of and respect for diverse backgrounds, with proven ability to develop culturally responsive therapeutic approaches that serve all students and families Collaborative Leadership: Proven ability to build effective partnerships with staff, families, and stakeholders across multiple schools while maintaining cultural competence and promoting inclusive practices Student-Centered Program Development: Skilled in creating and implementing therapeutic programs that enhance student independence, social-emotional growth, and academic access while aligning with CWC’s constructivist approach Technical & Professional Acumen: Expert knowledge of IEP processes, documentation systems, and assistive technology, coupled with strong data-driven decision-making to improve student outcomes Adaptive Communication & Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across diverse communities, navigate sensitive conversation, and develop creative solution that support student success while maintaining focus on mission-aligned outcome Qualifications Valid California Occupational Therapy License (CBOT) and National Board Certification (NBCOT) Minimum 1 year experience working with students in an educational setting Demonstrated expertise in IEP development, assessment, and goal-writing Proficiency with Welligent and other SPED related computer programs Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse student populations, including English language learners and students with special needs Knowledge of LAUSD procedures and compliance requirements preferred Strong data collection and progress monitoring skills Strong computer and technology skills, including proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint Fluency in a second language (ideally Spanish or Korean) is preferred Manage the ambiguity and multiple priorities inherent in an entrepreneurial environment Commitment to CWC’s mission of inclusive, experiential education Demonstrated cultural competence and equity-minded approach Strong collaboration skills across diverse stakeholder groups Excellent written, verbal, organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills Initiative, tenacity, flexibility, humility, strong work ethic, professional demeanor, sense of humor, and a can-do attitude Flexibility and ability to adapt to different school settings, procedures, and staffs Proven ability to work independently across multiple locations Initiative and adaptability in an entrepreneurial environment Humility and dedication to continuous learning and professional growth Belief and willingness to ensure that all students can learn and achieve at high levels Equal Opportunity Employer Citizens of the World Charter Schools (CWC) prohibits discrimination, harassment, intimidation, and bullying in educational programs, activities, or employment based on actual or perceived ancestry, age, color, disability, gender, gender identity, gender expression, nationality, race or ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual orientation, parental, pregnancy, family or marital status, military status, immigration status or association with a person or a group with one or more of these actual or perceived characteristics.
