Transform Lives Through Communication in Dynamic Memphis – Become Our Next Speech Language Pathologist
Imagine stepping into a role where your dedication to communication can resonate with purpose—literally. As a Speech Language Pathologist in the vibrant city of Memphis, your contributions will reach beyond merely treating communication and swallowing disorders. You will unlock potential, restore confidence, and foster connections—from young children beginning their verbal journey to older adults striving for independence once again.
This position presents a remarkable chance to assist a diverse population spanning all age groups in a setting that intertwines outpatient therapy with the opportunity for occasional inpatient involvement. Whether your passion lies in nurturing pediatric language milestones, addressing adult neurogenic communication issues, or engaging in geriatric cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation, you will discover satisfaction and versatility in your work here.
Conduct assessments for patients of all ages, utilizing standardized testing and observational evaluations.
Design tailored treatment plans targeting both immediate communication goals and the longer-term needs related to cognitive or swallowing disorders.
Deliver individualized speech therapy focused on enhancing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing skills.
Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and family members, to develop integrated care plans.
Provide education to patients and their families to facilitate continued improvement beyond clinical sessions.
Participate in occasional inpatient assessments and interventions, ensuring that care remains uninterrupted through each step of the patient's treatment process.
Maintain precise and timely documentation in line with state, federal, and organizational standards.
Engage in continued learning to keep pace with advancements in the field and to enhance peer collaboration.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not currently ASHA-certified.
State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be achieved within 30 days of starting employment.
Strong command of evidence-based treatment methods for a variety of ages, coupled with a comprehensive understanding of speech, language, and swallowing disorders, both developmental and acquired.
Exceptional interpersonal communication abilities with patients, their families, and members of the interdisciplinary care team.
Flexibility in adapting therapeutic techniques to cater to varying cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Sound clinical judgment paired with excellent problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with electronic health record systems and documentation practices.
Attractive compensation tailored to experience levels.
Flexible schedules promoting work-life balance and diverse patient loads.
Possibilities for specialization in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay.
Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage options.
Support for continuing education and professional development.
A collaborative, team-oriented working environment centered on high-quality patient care and continuous learning.
In this role, your impact transcends routine speech therapy; you will immerse yourself in a mission fueled by a community effort to restore voices, elevate communication, and cultivate joy through the fundamental human experiences of understanding and connection.
As you work alongside fellow clinicians who share a family-oriented philosophy of mutual support, you will be part of a team that celebrates collaboration over competition. Each patient carries a unique narrative; we trust you to contribute to how that story unfolds.
