ServiceNow Platform Developer

Role Overview The role is to hire a ServiceNow Development Engineer who brings strong technical expertise, a mindset that embodies Moderna’s unique mindsets, and a passion for delivering the best digital experience to our employees. The engineer will develop and support our ServiceNow platform, drive automation, and optimize business processes to deliver more value from existing capabilities and to grow the platform across Moderna. Responsibilities Leverage knowledge and experience to deliver end‑to‑end solutions on the ServiceNow platform. Develop, configure, and provide technical expertise for ServiceNow platform capabilities, including ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, HRSD, and PA. Design, create, and configure Business Rules, UI Policies, UI Actions, Client Scripts, and ACLs, including advanced scripting and Service Portal integration. Develop system integrations using REST, SOAP, MID‑servers, or other relevant technologies. Facilitate discovery of CI’s and work with class owners to set up identification and reconciliation rules. Conduct code walkthroughs/reviews and mentor junior team members in platform and code best practices. Actively participate in agile daily scrums and ceremonies, updating stories daily, documenting development progress, and collaborating across teams. Participate in requirement workshops, working with the product owner and development manager to configure requested items and tasks using Flow Designer. Understand and articulate to the team, development manager, and product owner the trade‑offs of customized solutions versus base configuration implementation. Remediate production incidents and coordinate application and platform upgrades. Promote apps and updates through the app store and update sets. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technology or scientific field, or 5years of equivalent professional experience in lieu of a degree. 6+ years of expertise developing on the ServiceNow platform in two or more capabilities (ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, HRSD, and PA). 1 or more active ServiceNow certifications (Certified System Administrator, ITSM, App Specialist). 3+ years of experience integrating ServiceNow with external systems through REST, SOAP, MID‑servers, or other relevant technologies. 3+ years of experience with HTML5, Java, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, and Angular.js. Candidates must already hold work authorization in the U.S. and be able to maintain that status without the need for future sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of all aspects of ServiceNow scripting, including Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Builder, Scripted REST APIs, and Script Includes. Experience with discovery and CMDB, including an understanding of MID server architecture, probes and sensors, and CMDB identification and reconciliation. Experience communicating with application users to understand and collect their requirements and requests. Educational or job‑related experience documenting technical systems and user workflows. Experience working in life sciences, pharma/biotech, or high‑tech industries with a preference for experience in eCommerce, data/machine learning platforms, or cloud infrastructure. Experience in a regulated environment. Experience working in a matrixed organization. Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $121,600.00 – $194,500.00 (this range represents the lowest to highest salary the company believes it would pay for this role). An individual’s position within the range will be based on several factors, including competencies, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, and business or organizational needs. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, other incentive compensation, or equity award, subject to company plan eligibility criteria and individual performance.
