Ophthalmic Medical Assistant

We are currently hiring healthcare professionals who are passionate about customer service to join our Team as an Ophthalmic Medical Assistant. The Ophthalmic Medical Assistant will support a high-volume ASC Medical Assistant to join our growing team at Midwest Eye Center Eastgate Surgery Center.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Laser procedures
• Assist with Room turnover for surgeries
• Obtaining and documenting patient history
• Administering eye drops, ointments, and irrigating solutions to the eye as ordered by the physician
• Performing office duties and clinical tasks - entering data into EMR
• Providing patient services
• Obtaining supplies from other areas as needed
• Returning supplies and equipment to the appropriate location
• Assisting in keeping the Central Sterile area neat and orderly
• Effecting handling health or safety hazards for self and patients
• Reporting any unusual occurrences or incidents accurately to the Administrative Director and the Medical Director and Nurse Manager.
• Maintaining equipment and instruments
• Dependable transportation required to travel to other offices as required
• Must be flexible with traveling to various locations as needed
• Ability to pay attention to detail
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• The ability to seek instruction in areas where he/she is not knowledgeable
• The ability to recognize inconsistencies
• Performing other duties as required

Qualifications

• Dependable transportation required to travel to other offices as required

• Must be flexible with traveling to various locations.

• Ability to pay attention to detail

• Ability to maintain confidentiality

• The ability to seek instruction in areas where he/she is not knowledgeable

• The ability to recognize inconsistencies

• Medical office experience preferred

• CPR certified

Education:

• Graduation from an accredited high school
