As the most comprehensive imaging service provider in Central Connecticut, we offer unparalleled growth opportunities with a nationally accredited team of experts in radiology.Essential Functions:Must accurately interpret a physician's instructions, routine procedural protocols, prepare and operate the ultrasound equipment, associated software and equipment and position the patient to capture the appropriate images.Document all patient related information in radiology information system in a timely manner based on patient and radiologist workflow.Acquire patients' chart data/requisition and reviews both to determine correct room set-up and learn of any specific medical problems, contraindications to the study and verify that the study being ordered correlates to the diagnostic needs.Maintain all aspects of the ultrasound imaging area including technical and clerical components to ensure proper quality assurance results, maintenance of required documentation and keep the area in a state of inspection readiness and compliance.Actively participate and maintain detailed follow up of BIRADS category 0 mammographic records to ensure compliance with ACR requirements.Educate patients regarding procedure, equipment and exam to ensure understanding and safety.Provide imaging support for Varicose Vein Treatment procedures, ensuring sterile technique and imaging guidance as directed by the radiologist.Provide coverage as needed (i.e., in the event of call off or extended patient schedules).Provides instruction/mentoring to new hires. Continually strives to learn new technical information and skills through attendance of periodic in-service programs and participation in professional affiliation programs.Requirements:American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), certification required within 12 months. Certifications required: Abdomen, OB-GYN, Breast, Vascular.Two years Ultrasound experience.Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.Radiology Associates of Hartford is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
