Quality Control Inspector

Job Title Quality Control Job Summary The QC is responsible and accountable for supporting the Alliance Steel Quality & Safety principles through monitoring and inspecting all products during the manufacturing cycle and prior to leaving the plant for delivery. Duties/Responsibilities Read and interpret shop prints for your area Inspect the pieces in your area Engage with the Welder/Fitter or Operator/Associate about issues and how to fix Answer questions about code or policy/procedure (Tolerances) Fill out applicable documents (Examples: NCRs, Manifest, Safety Observation Cards, etc.) 100% and promptly Adheres to company policy Adheres to attendance policy Follows safety criteria for assigned areas Any other duties assigned Required Skills/Abilities Minimum of 2 years’ welding experience (CWI is not required) Be able to read a tape measure to 1/16th inch quickly & accurately Understanding or the overall operation of the entire plant Read and understand prints at a high level of expertise Ability to coordinate your efforts with the Shop Supervisors to avoid work delays Must be proficient with inspection tools Excellent written and verbal skills Excellent problem-solving skills Perform other duties as assigned Preferences Experience with AWS D1.1 Previous weld inspection Physical Requirements Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 75 pounds regularly Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, sit, stand, and walk for extended periods. Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
