About the Position

Job Title: Certified OB Tech Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: OB Tech Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum Years of Experience: 2 License: VA state license required. Certifications: BLS, NBSTSA required. Must-Have: Must have OB experience. Must be NBSTA certified and have VA registration in hand. Must work 2 out of the 3 winter holidays. Description: Clinical review and auto offer for Certified Labor & Delivery tech. Candidates must have a minimum of two years of experience. Candidates should have charting system experience. Experience in trauma and LTAC is preferred. The following skills are essential: Abdominal hysterectomy, Anterior/Posterior Repair, Aseptic Technique, Bilateral tubal ligation, C-sections, Labor & Delivery, Vaginal Delivery, and Vaginal Hysterectomy. Experience with various procedures including but not limited to Cesarean Sections, Bilateral Tubal Ligations, and Dilation & Curettage is necessary. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Interdisciplinary support is expected. The unit primarily deals with patient diagnoses including preterm, premature rupture of membranes, and diabetes. Candidates should have experience working with scheduled, urgent, and emergent cases. The ability to handle crisis situations is essential. Crash Cart experience is required. Candidates will be required to float within their scope of practice as needed. Education: BSN is preferred.
