Role Description

The Filmmaker will play a key role in capturing and producing video content that highlights the Energy Finance Summit’s programming, participants, and brand. This contract position is based in San Diego, CA, with a hybrid work arrangement that allows some work from home alongside on-site production during summit events and related activities. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and directing video shoots, collaborating with event organizers and marketing teams to define storylines, and managing the full production process from concept through delivery. The Filmmaker will film panels, interviews, networking sessions, and promotional segments, as well as oversee editing, post-production, and delivery of content for web, social media, and promotional materials. The role may also involve scriptwriting for promotional videos, coordinating with external vendors, and ensuring that all content aligns with brand standards and event objectives.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Film Direction and Film Production to plan, lead, and manage live-action shoots and event coverage.
• Hands-on experience with Video Production, including camera operation, lighting, and sound recording in dynamic event environments.
• Proficiency in Post-Production, including editing, color correction, sound design, and preparing deliverables for digital platforms.
• Ability in Scriptwriting to develop clear, engaging narratives and promotional concepts for summit-related video content.
• Demonstrated portfolio of film or video work, preferably including event coverage, interviews, or documentary-style storytelling.
• Knowledge of current video formats, social media content standards, and best practices for digital distribution.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with executives, speakers, and production teams.
• Reliable time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines within a contract-based, event-driven schedule.
• Experience working in entertainment, finance, or business-focused events is beneficial, as is familiarity with San Diego production locations
