Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Scrum Master to support Agile transformation initiatives within a large-scale capital markets environment. This role goes beyond traditional Scrum facilitation and focuses on driving structure, accountability, and delivery consistency across teams operating at varying levels of Agile maturity.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on Agile practitioner who can enforce best practices, improve delivery outcomes, and operate effectively in complex, regulated financial environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and enforce Agile practices across multiple teams in low to mid-maturity environments
• Drive Agile transformation efforts, improving team structure, accountability, and delivery predictability
• Own and improve JIRA governance, including:
• Backlog structure and hygiene
• Workflow consistency
• Reporting and dashboards
• Facilitate and optimize Agile ceremonies:
• Sprint Planning
• Daily Standups
• Retrospectives
• PI Planning (SAFe environments)
• Identify and address delivery gaps, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies
• Partner with stakeholders to:
• Align priorities
• Manage expectations
• Improve communication and transparency
• Operate with a hybrid Scrum Master / PM mindset, supporting reporting, tracking, and delivery oversight
• Influence teams and stakeholders, including pushing back when necessary to maintain delivery discipline

Required Experience

• 8+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Delivery Lead
• Proven experience in Agile transformation (not just operating within Agile)
• Strong experience working in financial services / capital markets environments
• Hands-on experience with JIRA governance, reporting, and workflow optimization
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in complex enterprise environments
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience working in SAFe or scaled Agile environments is preferred

Domain Experience (Critical)

This role is focused on capital markets within middle and back office environments, not strictly front-office trading.

Relevant experience includes:

• Regulatory reporting
• Treasury operations
• Settlements
• Netting of payments
• Middle/back office operations
• Risk, compliance, or financial data flows

Note:

Front-office trading experience (equities, derivatives, etc.) is not required, but broader capital markets exposure is strongly preferred.
