Assistant Deli Manager | Piggly Wiggly

The Role: Passion for Food, Leadership in Action
As the Assistant Deli Manager, you are the co-pilot of one of our most vibrant departments. Working side-by-side with the Deli Manager, you will blend culinary passion with operational leadership. Your mission is to engage and educate our guests on our premium products while fostering a high-energy, high-integrity team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Engagement: Actively educate guests on deli products and provide legendary service that keeps the community coming back.
Team Leadership: Support the management of up to 10 employees. You'll share responsibilities for scheduling and conducting annual performance evaluations.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure the department strictly adheres to all health and food safety regulations. You will lead by example in maintaining a clean, safe workspace.
Inventory & Operations: Maintain precise inventory levels and manage department products with a focus on quality and freshness.
Technical Execution: Demonstrate expert-level efficiency and safety when operating hazardous equipment, including slicers, mixers, and ovens.

What We're Looking For:

Self-Motivated Leaders: Talented individuals who can multitask, think on their feet, and contribute to the store's long-term vision.
Reliability & Integrity: A high standard of honesty and ethics in all dealings with employees, vendors, and guests.
Physical Capability: Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and work comfortably in a fast-paced kitchen/deli environment.
Experience: Previous deli or food service experience is a plus, but a passion for the industry is a must.
