Overview Radiology Tech – MRI specialist needed for a travel assignment in Carbondale, Illinois. Start date: 09/21/2026. Duration: 13 contract weeks with guaranteed hours of 36 per week. Key Highlights Weekly pay: $3,107–$3,230 per week Guaranteed hours: 36 per week Contract duration: 13 weeks Shift: 5x8 evenings Start date: 09/21/2026 Work setting: hospital-based travel assignment Responsibilities Perform MRI examinations across appropriate patient populations, following physician orders and departmental protocols Position patients and select appropriate coils, sequences, and imaging parameters to obtain diagnostic-quality MRI images Screen for contraindications and safety hazards, ensure patient comfort, provide hearing protection, and monitor patients throughout the exam Administer contrast as ordered and monitor for adverse reactions in accordance with facility policy and safety standards Maintain accurate documentation in the radiology information system and PACS, verify orders, and ensure proper image labeling and storage Adhere to infection control, radiation and MRI safety procedures, and participate in on-call rotation as required (average of 1 week every 6 weeks) Requirements Licenses and Certification: Current Illinois Registered Nurse license Certifications: Current CPR/BLS Card; ACLS Unit/Clinical Certifications (as listed in job notes): Intensive Care Unit; Progressive Care Unit; Progressive Care Unit Stepdown; Cardiac Services; Cardiac Catheterization; Cardiac Care Decision Unit; Interventional Imaging; SDS Procedure Room; Electrocardiology; OP Cardiovascular Center; Intermediate Care Unit; ACLS-Fetal Assessment-Monitoring-NRP; Birthing Center; ACLS-PALS Emergency Room; Recovery Room; NRP-Mother Baby / Neonatal ICU; NRP-PALS; Pediatrics; Infusion Center / CTC-Radiation / Infusion Therapy Services; NIHSS; and related Medical/Surgical/ICU/ER certifications as noted Education and Experience: Education and specific clinical experience not explicitly listed beyond the certifications above; ability to work in a hospital-based travel assignment Benefits and Support Benefits and assignment support information not provided in the posting Please note: Pay rates and guaranteed hours are estimates and may vary.
