Job Duties

• Safely operate heavy-capacity forklifts to move and position salvage vehicles
• Transport vehicles from one designated location to another
• Operate forklifts capable of handling 15,000+ lbs.
• Safely work with extended forks measuring more than 15 feet
• Maneuver large and potentially irregular loads with accuracy and control
• Perform basic pre-shift equipment inspections
• Follow all site safety procedures and operating guidelines
• Maintain awareness of surrounding employees, vehicles, and equipment
• Report equipment concerns or unsafe conditions promptly
• Perform additional related duties as assigned

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous warehouse training or powered industrial truck training is beneficial

Experience Requirements

• Experience operating forklifts or other powered industrial equipment safely and efficiently
• Ability to load, unload, move, stack, and organize palletized materials
• Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and safe equipment operation
• Ability to accurately identify inventory, shipping documentation, and storage locations
• Strong attention to detail, dependable attendance, and commitment to workplace safety
• Experience moving vehicles, oversized materials, or similarly heavy loads preferred
• Comfortable operating equipment with extended/oversized forks
• Strong understanding of forklift and workplace safety

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in warehouse, distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or shipping and receiving is preferred
• Current forklift certification or experience operating multiple classes of powered industrial equipment is beneficial
• Experience using RF scanners, warehouse management systems (WMS), or inventory software is considered an asset
• Individuals who demonstrate safe operating practices, teamwork, reliability, and productivity are well positioned for success as a Forklift Operator

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and climb on and off powered industrial equipment throughout the shift
• Ability to lift, move, or reposition materials weighing up to 50 pounds when required
• Ability to safely operate forklifts in busy warehouse and manufacturing environments
• Ability to maintain awareness of surrounding personnel, equipment, and inventory while operating powered industrial vehicles
