Medical Science Liaison, Global Rare Diseases - MidwestThe Medical Science Liaison (MSL) has the primary responsibility of building key opinion leader (KOL) partnerships by engaging in the exchange of scientific data and other medical and/or scientific information with external stakeholders (HCPs, researchers, professional organization leadership, and formulary decision-makers) within our Cardio-Metabolic franchise across the aligned geography. Scientific engagements include establishing and maintaining educational and research collaborations; delivery of clinical, scientific, and technical education; building long term peer to peer relationships with key stakeholders by establishing rapport, providing scientific education, including high level HEOR and RWE concepts, and listening with true curiosity to bring the customer's voice into our organization in a robust manner.You'll be responsible for:Scientific Exchange, advice seeking and clinical development supportTherapeutic Support, Internal Collaboration, and Project WorkAdministrative WorkYou will need to have:Completion of a graduate level degree (PharmD., M.D., D.O, DNP, PhD, MSN, MS or equivalent healthcare professional degree) long with relevant clinical experiencePost-graduate residency training along with 1-2 years MSL or clinical experience relevant to the Therapeutic Area assigned to the prospective candidate (exception for PhD candidates with requisite experience)Cardio-Metabolic experience highly preferredBuilds and leverages strategic internal and external relationships to identify potential opportunities and partnerships to provide value and improve quality of care for providers and patientsWork effectively on diverse, multi–disciplinary teams to achieve desired outcomes through emphasizing team over self.Demonstrates discipline and resilience through skillful planning, prioritization, and an ability to execute multiple responsibilities with minimal supervision in a highly dynamic work environmentHigh self-awareness and good people sense, maintains a growth mindset, positive attitude, and demonstrates flexibility during challenging situationsDemonstration of scientific and clinical expertise in assigned therapeutic area, including exceptional clinical, pharmacoeconomic and real-world evidence knowledge and business acumenExceptional Written and Verbal Communication skills: Highly articulate and persuasive during formal and informal presentations; able to convey complex, scientific ideas fluently to any audienceHas the ability to tactfully provide scientifically sound information to national, regional, and local key opinion leaders, and HCPsActively listens to understand, with true curiosity, to others, rather than listening to respondAdept at confidently stating expert opinion while respecting the positions of others - can exert diplomacy while standing firmly on evidence-based positions and maintain credibilityUtilizes effective, professional communications to cultivate strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and colleagues and external customersLocation: Field-Based/Remote position, up to 75% travel as necessary to meet job requirements; Candidates should live in/near the following Territory locations: ND, SD, NE, KS, MN, IA, MO, WI, IL, MI, IN, OH, or KY.Compensation: The annual base pay for this position ranges from $165,000 to $190,000. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
