As a Lab Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for drawing high-quality blood specimens from patients across various age groups, ensuring each collection is performed with safety, accuracy, and professionalism. Responsibilities:

Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations.

Prepare and process samples for laboratory testing following standard procedures.

Verify patient identification information, including demographic data and signatures, ensuring proper labeling of specimens in the presence of patients.

Maintain accurate records of collections, including documentation, labeling, and specimen handling.

Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, professional, and welcoming environment.

Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, explaining procedures to ease anxiety and build trust.

Adapt to various work settings, including patient service centers and clinical environments, covering multiple locations as needed.

Support quality assurance and process improvement initiatives to enhance patient and client satisfaction.

Exercise discretion and uphold confidentiality of sensitive patient information at all times.

Required Skills:

Proven proficiency in venipuncture and capillary blood collection techniques across diverse populations.

Strong understanding of patient identification procedures to ensure specimen accuracy.

Excellent communication skills, with a focus on customer service and patient interaction.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

High attention to detail and accuracy in specimen labeling and documentation.

Comfort working in high-volume, fast-paced environments.

Dependability, flexibility, and readiness to cover varied shifts including weekends, holidays, and on-call hours.

Basic keyboard and data entry skills for specimen logging and documentation.

Knowledge of safety standards and infection control protocols.

Nice to Have Skills:

Certification in phlebotomy or equivalent credential.

Medical assisting or paramedic training.

Experience working in a clinical medical environment or patient service center.

Prior work with pediatric, geriatric, or special populations.

Experience with customer service in retail or service industries.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, particularly for traveling between multiple sites.

Preferred Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.

1–3 years of professional phlebotomy experience, particularly with diverse patient populations.

Additional experience in a Patient Service Center environment is a plus.

Certification such as Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) preferred; required in certain states (such as California, Nevada, and Washington).

Other Requirements:

Willingness to travel between multiple locations with flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Must be physically able to perform blood draws and stand for extended periods.

Clean driving record and reliable transportation if required for travel.

Ability to handle multiple priorities in high-volume settings.

Adherence to company policies, dress code, and safety standards.
