Registered Nurse Surgery Center

We are looking for a full‑time Registered Nurse for our Salt Lake City, UT surgery center. The surgery center is open Monday through Friday. This role is 30 hours per week, split into three 10‑hour shifts from 7:00AM to 4:30PM during the week. Quarterly bonus opportunities! Responsibilities Patient Care : Obtain medical history, discuss procedures, and perform nursing assessments on the day of the procedure. Provide patient and family education regarding post‑procedure care. Monitor patient condition before, during, and after the procedure, particularly for moderate sedation and contrast media injections. Administer medications and IV moderate sedation per physician orders. Act as scrub technologist, maintain sterile technique, assist with patient workflow, transport, and perform point‑of‑care laboratory testing. Initiate CPR and other emergency measures as needed. Quality & Compliance : Support and drive organization quality standards, meet regulatory and accrediting body requirements, and practice continuous quality improvement (CQI). Assist with implementation of quality goals and action plans. Address adverse events and thresholds with facility management. Maintain integrity of medical records and comply with data collection and auditing activities. Physician Interaction : Communicate effectively with physicians, attend CQI meetings, and assist with instrument and equipment verification. Help complete and report state‑required adverse event reports. Maintenance & Technical : Operate and inspect patient monitors, defibrillators, medical recording devices, sterilizers, and computers. Report equipment malfunctions and maintenance needs. Ensure facility temperature checks and structural integrity. Address blood spills per bloodborne pathogen control policies. Administrative : Assist with medication and laboratory inventory, maintain medication supply, and manage controlled substance records. Complete usage logs, drug disposal records, and medical record audits. Participate in regulatory and accreditation surveys, state‑required records for implanted devices, and staff meetings. Comply with HIPAA policies. Physical Demands and Working Conditions Desk and personal computer work; interaction with patients, staff, and physicians. Direct patient care involving heavy lifting and moving patients up to 200lbs. Two‑person assist program available. Frequent prolonged standing; ability to bend and move equipment. Protective gear in procedure rooms may be required. Exposure to infectious materials and radiation; environment is a health care facility with controlled temperature and moderate noise. Education High School Diploma required. Associate’s Degree desirable; Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred. Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (R.N.) with current state licensure and ACLS certification. Experience and Required Skills 4–6 years of related experience preferred, especially in office‑based surgical center, vascular access, cardiac cath lab, interventional radiology, ICU/CCU, or emergency department. Proficiency in computers, Microsoft Office, IV insertion, cardiac rhythm recognition, and medical database software. Certified in BLS & ACLS, with completed course certifications.
