Medical Laboratory Technician – Permanent Position

Location: Liberal, Kansas

Position Overview:

Medical Laboratory Technician responsible for performing diagnostic laboratory testing to support disease diagnosis and patient care. Duties include specimen preparation, conducting tests, analyzing results, and maintaining laboratory equipment.

Shift Details:

• 5x8 Day Shift
• 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• 40 hours per week
• Start Date: 07/13/2026
• Occasional weekend coverage (every 3rd weekend if needed)
• Possible float to night shift coverage if required

Facility Overview:

• 110-bed acute care hospital
• Services include ER, ICU, OB, Surgery/Recovery, Medical, and Skilled Nursing units
• Laboratory performs chemistry, hematology, microbiology, coagulation, urinalysis, blood bank, and molecular testing
• Supports both inpatient and outpatient testing services

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform and analyze laboratory tests across multiple disciplines
• Prepare and process patient specimens
• Maintain and operate laboratory equipment
• Ensure quality control, accuracy, and compliance with lab standards
• Support diagnosis and treatment through accurate lab reporting

Requirements:

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science
• MT/MLT/MLS certification preferred or eligible
• Phlebotomy experience required
• Strong attention to detail and laboratory accuracy
• Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment

Additional Information:

• Permanent position
• Starting pay: $27.10/hour (based on experience)
• Relocation assistance up to $2,500 available
• Cross-training required for occasional night shift support
• Strict adherence to hospital and laboratory compliance standards
